ok, so I downloaded Ubuntu 8.04.1 (hardy heron) and burned it to a disk with toast titanium. i load it up by holding down “c” while booting up, and I get some text. then no matter what I do, I get a white screen or a message that says “cannot allocate memory”, or “cannot allocate region of device” could anyone give me some advice?

trying to install ubuntu on old toshiba tecra8000. i just wiped out the hard drive with “Darik’s boot and nuke” and now want to insert boot disk for ubuntu installation. should i format drive first, or is there possibly some other task i’ve neglected to perform that i’m unaware of?
