Are there any media players that work off flash drives for Ubuntu?

How can i show programs in my desktop in ubuntu? I recently installed a program for music in ubuntu, I can’t find where it went! I can run it from terminal but i want it on my desktop so i can just open it from there? is not in sound and video. Thanks

I’m using Ubuntu for a while and I’m learning Gnome(the default desktop environment ) well. but i want to use KDE environment beside my gnome and I want to know how can I install KDE. Ubuntu does not support my modem so I don’t have access to internet through Linux. I have Kubuntu installer cd. so I prefer to find a way to install KDE using Kubuntu cd.
