I am a power user with Windows, but now, in true geek style, I’m venturing towards Linux. So, I’ve installed the latest Ubuntu on my old laptop. Now here’s the problem – I’m absolutely lost. How can I install TOR on Ubuntu? Could you walk me through it, from what to download up to the point where TOR is installed with the TOR button in Firefox? Thanks.

I’m planning on trying a different OS besides Windows and I’m currently downloading Ubuntu Ultimate 1.4 because I know that it’s the only OS out there that is PC and MAC systems compatible, but it’s a direct iso image and the provider doesn’t include a read me file or something like that. I’m worried that I might never be able to install it if it asks for a cd key or something like that.

Cause it tends to crash a lot, even though I think my drivers are up to date. Shit! I type compiz in terminal and it starts. Talk about ease of use, sincerely.

I have 64bit Ubuntu 7.10 and want to install adobe flash. I was told that it normally only runs on 32 bit Linux systems, but that there is a way around this. What is this way and how do i do it? (This needs to be very in-depth; i have had Ubuntu for 3 days)

While obviously I wouldn’t perform this without backing up files I can’t afford to lose, would setting up Ubuntu over Windows by shrinking my unpartitioned drive guarantee safety of the original files, or does it have a high (more than 3%) failure rate? And yes, I’m aware I misspelled guarantee.

I have a nVidia GeForce FX5200 graphics card (i know, not so good now, but it’s fine for me) but Ubuntu/Kubuntu dosen’t support my graphics card and all I get after the boot sequence is a full screen terminal. It’s the same for both the LiveCD and Wubi. Help?
