Can I delete ubuntu and its partion if I have a dual boot configuration?

I want to install ubuntu on dual boot, but I don’t want to if I can’t get rid of it. It would be helpful if anyone could tell me how.
What if I install Ubuntu inside Windows XP?

I’m getting ready to make the switch to Ubuntu,and thought it would be a good idea to check all the system requirements. Every thing seems to be compatible,but I’m unclear if the wireless card in my laptop will be detected automatically or not as I have read some are not. I’m using the Intell R pro set 2100 3a mini PCI adapter. Any insight in this matter would be helpful, Thanks in advanced!

I have install Ubuntu 7.04 as my second OS. But my username is not root. Then in the Ubuntu terminal program, how can I get into root?
