How do you make Ubuntu 7.10 (Gutsy Gibbon) play a sound when a file or folder is opened?
My laptop is a little slow, so I often times open the same file a couple times before it opens, (I know be more patient) but sometime it doesn’t double-click therefore the file isn’t opening. Anyway, I want Ubuntu to play a sound when I open a file or folder that way if it DOES open it’ll make a noise and I won’t click it again. Anyone know how to do that?

How can i turn up the volume on ubuntu?
My ubuntu desktop works just well,but I found though there is sound but it is too small even when I i turn it up to the most.How can I solve this prob?
