I don’t want to do a dual-boot. my comp is not that great in performance. nope, nokia is a no-no. I’ve tried connecting it.

How to use usb modem to connect to the internet in ubuntu?

What is the maximum amount of ram in ubuntu?
I have a dell dimension 4600 using ubuntu as its os. It only has 1gb of ram. I want to add 3 more gigs. Is there a max limit of ram for ubuntu?If so am I under it?
The max it could take is 4 gb. It takes 1gb per slot and has 4 slots. Im using the 4gb for gaming.The only reason i asked because windows xp/vista 36bit could only read up to 4gb anything pass 4gb would not work. So im asking how much linux could read.
Im not buying 4 gbs im buying 3gb. Remember i said i already have 1 gb. I could buy 3gb for around 150dollars 50 per gb.

How do I change the screen resolution in ubuntu?

I am using the on board video, Geforce 6150LE, and my monitor is a Dell e207wfp.
I am on Ubuntu 7.04, I have the latest stable version of the kernel.
redsoxer, nope, my monitors native resolution is not listed. The screen resolution only goes to 800 x 600 under system, prefrences, screen resolution.
I believe I need to change something in the conf file.

What video driver does Ubuntu Linux Use?
Hi, I am using Ubuntu Hardy Heron. When I look under hardware drivers it lists ATI accelerated graphics driver and says not in use. My question is, what video driver is Ubuntu using in that case? And if I get the a supported video card will there be an improvement in the graphics quality? Thanks…
