For all of my printers, all I had to do was plug them in and turn them on. CUPS then detected them and automatically did it itself. Otherwise if that does not work, you will have to add on under printers… although it should detect it, and if it does not have a driver, then it should use a generic one.
I have gotten a 1986 dot matrix printer to work perfectly with Ubuntu… so it has good drivers.
Tough Luck! Lexmark printers are the worst to use with Ubuntu, because there are no drivers for them. Same thing for “Dell” printers, which are re-branded Lexmarks.
