Put the CD in that you burned. Shut down your computer, and then restart. It will boot Ubuntu from the CD, and then you will see it.

when you boot to the live cd there should be some options on the bottom that are toggled by hitting the “F” keys, i don’t remember which one it is specifically but try booting into “safe VGA mode” should be F3 or F4
